Today marks five years since this website officially went live.
Milestones
Milestones have a way of making us pause and reflect. More than just dates on a calendar—they’re an opportunity to appreciate how far we’ve come and to look ahead to what’s next.
Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of exchanging emails with so many of you: processing requests to be listed, making corrections, answering questions, and hearing your stories. Those conversations have transformed what could have been just another online directory into something much more personal. Along the way, I’ve come to appreciate the professionalism and passion amongst you.
When a community is built one conversation at a time, then five years represent countless relationships, and that’s meaningful. In fact, I’ve enjoyed those personal interactions so much that I’ve probably held on to that interactive process longer than I should have.
In the beginning…
At the start, the site listed only a few hundred technicians. Since then, it has grown to include thousands of technicians from around the world, and continues to grow. Until now, I’ve personally updated listings whenever someone requested a change or asked to be added. That approach has helped me stay connected with many of you, but it isn’t the most practical way to support a growing international directory. As the community continues to expand, it’s time for the next step.
Coming Soon
Soon, technicians will be able to manage their own listings directly, to keep information current. New members will be able to create their own listings. I’m excited to see the directory become even more accurate, more useful, and more responsive for both technicians and the piano owners searching for them.
This next chapter also opens the door to things many of you have requested: optional premium features. Our commitment to providing a valuable free directory isn’t changing. At the same time, we’re preparing to introduce premium services that will give technicians additional ways to showcase their businesses, increase their visibility, and connect with prospective clients.
